How can a sticker bridge the gap between isolation and community?
My honors thesis is the first to be presented within the Graphic Communications Management program at Appalachian State University. For this project, I created, produced, and distributed 2,000 stickers across North Carolina specifically designed for students of color attending Predominantly White Institutions. The purpose of this project was to foster stronger connections among students of color within PWI campuses.

What seemed like a simple act of kindness done by the Black Student Association, connected our community without words.
Stuck Together: Stickers of Empowerment and Belonging
was inspired by the Appalachian State Black Student Association (BSA) and their initiative to share stickers designed by Black artists at various campus events.
From this simple act of kindness sparked a connection amongst student of color that symbolized the shared experiences and treasured connections we have within Predominantly White Institutions (PWI).
For my thesis I aimed to further this concept and create impactful and eye-catching stickers for students of color at PWIs across North Carolina, leading to the title of my project in which cleverly plays on the nature of stickers and the concept of community coming together.
This project stands as a significant milestone in my personal and professional development. Beyond being a platform for expressing my creativity, this project has shown how my commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others can be achieved through the application of my skills, creativity, and passion.
